3 months + a teeny bit of sewing.

Seriously? Has it really been three months? My sweet baby girls hit three months a few days ago! Life has been a bit of a blur these past few months, and things like the house and my sewing have been neglected. (Though in the few moments I do have not taking care of kids the house comes first... so sad day for my sewing obsession)

We will start with Izzy.
*She still weighs quite a bit less than Georgia. I stepped on the scale, then held George on there, then held Izzy on there and Iz was two pounds less.
*She is still on Prevacid, and that is helping A LOT.
*She is getting a bit better with sitting alone when she is awake.
*She is in newborn clothes still, though sometimes I put her in 0-3.
*She is in size one diapers.
*She typically goes to bed around midnight and sleeps until six a.m. ... I am not complaining! Much better than three-four hour blocks!
*She has started smiling, and makes a coo-ing noise every now and then.

*Georgia is my chunky monkey.

*She still kinda fits in newborn, but I typically put her in 0-3 since I have more of those... and I hate doing laundry every day.

*She is in size one diapers, but probably will be out of them soon.

*She puts herself to sleep... which is ah-mazing! (And something her sister wont do).

*She can sit for 1-2 hours by herself just looking around.

*She smiles and makes noise all day.

*She usually eats last around ten, bed by midnight or one, and I wake her to eat after I put Izzy back down, so she may go longer if I let her, but I am not going to risk having to get up again if she doesn't! So, until both sleep through the night, I will keep waking the other up.

*She is just my all-around happy baby, she will wake up and be fine without eating right away, which is great since Izzy will scream bloody murder until she is fed... and with them being on the same schedule, sometimes they want to eat at the exact same time, though I try to stagger it by about 15 minutes so that doesn't happen.

I made the kimono on Izzy for my niece Avree, and now she is big so Kim gave it to me. And the kimono on Georgia I made before they were born. I meant to make pants for them... but that never happened. Looking at the picture made me remember I made matching booties too, so I will have to pull those out.

It was Avree's birthday earlier this month and I made her this dress. It was the first time I made this pattern, and I got a bit lost for a minute, but it all turned out in the end. Definitely going to have to make more of these.

It has a tie in the back. I am thinking one time I will make the ties in a different print, or maybe make the bodice, ties and skirt in three different fabrics. So many possibilities!

Then I made her this skirt. I love it. Wish it was in my size. But I had only just enough fabric for this skirt.

This is the same pattern as the bird one I made for Abby a while back. I am thinking about putting piping on the hem, or some pom-poms for next time.

I wish I had more sewing time, but I have my priorities straight. Love on my family, do my best with keeping the house straight and maybe get my 30 minutes of sewing in a week. Hopefully when the girls sleep through the night I will get more time back in my day, but for now it is okay... But I MUST get started on the blessing dresses!!!! I know exactly what I want to do, but I need to make a pattern that will fit them. Sadly, none of my patterns are that small. So for now, that is all. Time to go feed babies:)

Play time.

A few weeks ago I picked up an activity gym for the girls to stare at while they lay somewhere other that the swing:) Georgia likes it, especially when she has Jack wrapped around her finger and he pulls the bird that makes music everytime she makes a peep. haha.

Georgia will lay by herself and usually for a minimum of 15 minutes, but usually longer. Elizabeth will only lay there if Georgie is next to her... within arms reach... which usually leads to this:

She will end up smacking Georgia in the face, poking her eye, or using her super grip on any body part she can manage to get a hold of... So I try to keep them just past arm's length.

Then it is tummy time. This is where we can see Georgia acting more advanced and Izzy less advanced. Georgia does quite well with tummy time, she is usually happy about 5-10 minutes up on her arms until she gets pooped out and puts her head down. Izzy, well, she goes about 2-3 minutes... maybe...

Isn't she just so sweet? :) She still doesn't have a lot of control when she tries to hold her head up, and I think that is why she isn't so crazy about tummy time.

Then sometimes, when I am in the other room and realize I haven't heard anything from them in a few minutes, I come back to this. Wouldn't it be great to be able to fall asleep anywhere?

Oh Jack.

My sweet little boy. Remember my cool new barstools? Well he decided to lean back on one of them because he was "so tired", and he fell off. And they are really tall. He was screaming bloody murder and clutching his arm. We finally got him calmed down by giving him an ice pack, a popscicle, and daddy's lap. Two hours later he was still favoring it so I took him to instacare right before it closed.

The doctor examined him and said it looked pretty bad, there was a nasty bruise on the underside of his arm I hadn't seen because Jack wouldn't let me move his arm much, so he decided to x-ray it.

Jack was so brave, I was nervous because he doesn't usually do well with strangers. The guy explained the machine to Jack and what it would take pictures of. So he took three different pics in different positions and then let Jack see them on the computer. He thought it was so cool.

They couldn't see a brake or a fracture, but said sometimes it is hard to see in kids, so we are to keep it in a sling until Monday and see how he acts with it then. The doc said he was shocked nothing was broken.

All he could talk about for the next few hours was how neat the x-ray machine was andhow much he loved his new "swing" (sling).

Never again.

Never again will I run out of these...

Not because Ben bought a ridiculous amount of them, but because when he was gone I didn't make it out of the house all week except to take Abby to school. So when I ran out of batteries a day into his leave of absence I just pushed the swing every now and then until they fell asleep. Or started to stir. Or was crying because I was feeding the other one and not giving enough attention to her. I could have gone out, but meh, I didn't feel like it:)

This is how they used to swing. Until Georgia turned into a giant. Okay, she is not a giant, but she is about 1 1/2 pounds bigger than Izzy! Now they just don't quite fit in the swing together.

So now we get this. Elizabeth did this every time I put her in the swing for a week or so, I would sit her back up and she would do this again. She is getting better now at staying upright. Maybe it was just comfy? ... haha

I was taking pictures of my kids & my niece tonight, and just because they all can't be frame-worthy...

Yep, that's my Jack!

progress.

My mother-in-law is the best motivation ever. She tells me I should do this project on this day, and I will help you. Love it, because this is just what I need.

So Ben has been in New Mexico since Sunday and I have been getting crap done. The housework is nearly caught up (and hopefully will stay that way, haha), I have redone barstools, a dresser and started to get the twins room ready.

I got three barstools at a garage sale when I was still pregnant. Sherry called and said she would hold babies while I recovered them. So a bit of fabric and a can of spray paint later, they look brand new! Can't beat that for less than $20!

Their corner, so far. This was Jack's room/my craft room and I have been slowly cleaning it out. Sherry told me yesterday she would be over today to take the bunkbed down and put up the crib. I didn't know how to do it and have been begging Ben for weeks to do it, but he was against the idea. Well, since he is gone he doesn't get a say, haha.

The walls are a yellow color that was already there, I don't like it with the furniture, but since we are hopefully moving soon there is no point to paint the walls.

(see the toys in the crib? Jack thought they needed some:)

Sherry made this amazing quilt and that is what I am choosing my colors for the room from. This crib is a soft blue, and the other one is a soft green. Then their hamper is the same soft pink as their dresser. I have plans to paint some picture frames, baskets and maybe a shelf.

Oh, and she also made another quilt the same style in similar colors, but more of a paisley print. Love it too.

This is what I have left to go through. Ugh, where am I going to put it all?? I had a long table with shelves and storage, but that is no more. Our house has exactly two closets that are not in bedrooms, and no extra cupboards. One closet is a coat/shoe closet and the other is a pantry.

And just because they are cute, here is half a Georgia smile...

And a big Elizabeth smile. But of course, not at the same time.

Pinto.

A few weeks back we crashed my in-laws ward party, but first we went to my sister-in-law's cabin up in Pinto. The scenery was beautiful, just beyond this field was a herd of cows, nice knee-deep green grass and mountain views to die for. So of course I had brought my camera along and made my kids and niece pose for me:) And I just remembered I had these pictures, so yay!

Jack DID NOT want to take pictures. This is the best I got. There was another one with Abby, Jack and Avree (my niece) sitting on a little red bench holding hands, I took at least ten pictures and only got one of him even looking at the camera. Yeah, he is my stubborn kid.

Don't you just want to pinch those cheeks?!

Definitely her daddy's girl. Ben has been drilling the gun safety rules into her head and she can recite them word for word. She was so excited to be able to shoot!

Uncle Nate took both Abby and Jack on a quick ride.

He begged Jack to go on a ride first, and when he refused again and again he took Abby instead. That made Jack cry. So he took Jack next:)

I meant to take some of Georgia and Elizabeth, but it started to rain so they stayed inside the cabin in their seats. I may have to talk Ben into going back up there sometime when the kids are dressed up, it was so pretty!
