She rides...

Okay, so we have been major slackers and haven't even tried to teach Abby to ride her bike... bad, I know... Blame it on the hill we live on and all the streets around us that are hills. Makes for a good run route, though. We dropped her bike off at Grandma's house and kind of forgot about it. Well, Grandma and her Aunt Rachel have been teaching her to ride! We went up to Panguitch over the weekend (more on that when I get the pictures edited, because there are a lot to go through... I took over 300!) So I will post about this for now...

Panguitch is flat, and VERY quiet. So Ben took her out on the street to give it a try. She did it within the first two minutes! She got pretty good with it, although the steering was a hit or miss, sometimes she could do it and other times she was too concerned with looking at the camera (bad mommy).

And sweet little Jack wanted to go out so bad... but he cant quite petal yet, he just sits on it with his helmet on and watches Abby ;)

Happy Daddy's day... a few days late

So I have been a slacker at posting... I still have cute pics from 4wheeling on Memorial Day that I never did anything with, so a few days late on this one isn't that bad.

Ben has been working out of town for (forever) a while so we had PLENTY of time for this one! The kids did their handprints on the shirt and then I wrote on it. I just realized I didn't get a pic of the whole shirt, but it was cute. He was a good sport and wore it all day;)
In nursery they made these cute ties. Jack HATES ties, hats, etc. but he left this one on! He even sat down and looked at the camera while I took a bunch of pictures, granted he didn't look thrilled in ANY of them, but it is a start being he never looks at the camera.

Beware...

Of Ivins Resivoir!! Abby went there and got swimmers itch. yeah, not a fun time!

And I thought this was just cute... the pic is kind of grainy because it was taken at night. I was sewing up Abby's 4th of July dress and needed some elastic (pics soon) and needed elastic that was a little thinner than I had, so we went to wally world! It isn't always a good thing to live so close to walmart, try leaving for just what you went for. So it was nearly bedtime and Jack was kind of fussy so I gave him one of my lip glosses and this is what we ended up with. oh well, he enjoyed himself!

Las Vegas fun-ness

Okay, so I am a little behind... Last week I took the kids down to Vegas for the day while Ben was working in Arizona. Fun stuff. We went to Mandalay bay to see the aquarium, went to their amazing Town Square to eat lunch and frozen yogurt, hit a few fabric stores and of course got lost... twice... Anywho, fun fun day!

He LOVES fish!! I am talking the lame ones at Wal-mart, so he was having a blast here!! Especially when he saw the sharks!
Waiting for the sting rays to come closer...

I got one pic of her touching it, but it didn't turn out well. This was her favorite part! She spent a long time touching them and then we went to the next room, and she had to come back!

Mmmm... lunch!
I didn't get many pictures of the kids at the aquarium because the lighting was bad, but if you ever have the chance to go, it is way fun! (how many times did I say 'fun' in this post? probably a few too many;)

Well, I thought it sounded easy at the time...

The kids have been loving cars lately, so I got this crazy idea in my head to make a little something to go with their playmat... drum roll please.... I made houses and shops! Well, Ben cut them and I sanded and painted them. I was thinking it would take an hour, maybe two. I was dead wrong. Granted it could have been easy, but I wasn't satisfied, I had to make them (very) detailed. But, I like how they turned out so I guess it was all worth it...

Abby's flower shop, a house, and mom's bake shop
Jack's farm, a fire station and another house-oddly enough, I am now realizing, without a window... but a cute mailbox with a flag up!

more houses

police station and a grocery store, I was too lazy to write out the whole word... plus Abby can read food, not sure about grocery;)

I think I like this one the best. I cant decide if it is an apartment building or an office building... They played with it all night long, so I guess it was worth the entire day it took to make them, haha. Luckily Ben is out of town, so the house work can wait until tomorrow!

sad day

Ben has just left to go out of town for work... Not such a bad thing, this week anyways, since it is only until friday. Probably wont feel the same in the next few weeks as this job is supposed to take 23 business days, which equals out to 4 1/2 weeks out of town. Cant complain too much because I know husbands who do it for much longer than this! But I can still feel a little sorry for myself and my family on this first day of him being gone.

So as he is packing his bags, Abby comes out with a pile of clothes and informs him that she and Jack are going along too. He smiles at her and asks what they will do while he is working all day and she sweetly responds "Well, I will take care of Jack in the hotel room, we can relax and play ring around the rosey" His reply was obvious, and she cried... a lot... oh well, the countdown has begun for this week...
