Uh, are you SURE?!

Yeah, that was my reaction. I went to the doctor Thursday afternoon and was impressed they did an u/s that early. I had never been in that soon (insurance reasons), I guess this dr does them on all his first visits. It was the usual, doc was running 45 minutes behind... contemplated leaving... (ok, no I didn't but I imagined just leaving) Anyways, Ben wasn't there, because I thought it was just a routine checkup.

So he starts to do the u/s and slides it from one side to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other, etc. By this time I think I see what he sees. Then he put it right in the middle and said "here is baby a, here is baby b." What?!?!?! "so... there's TWO of them in there??" I was so in shock I didn't know what to say... didn't know what questions to ask... btw, I have about a million now! He said baby a is measuring 13w3d and baby b is measuring 13w4d. They are in two sacs with two seperate placentas, I am told that is the prefered way. So everything is good as of today!!

This is 13w2d
I was frustrated in the begining because I had put on 15 pounds! Then I was sooo sick I lost 7. I was thinking, how much will I be putting on if I gained that much already, this was before I knew about the extra one in there, so now I am not as worried.
The funny thing is, I always had a feeling it was twins. I was in bed the night before my appointment and I was so excited, I felt the baby move! I stayed still for a few minutes and it kept happening, then I felt it on the other side and decided it just must have been gas. nope! Baby A is VERY active at night, Baby B is more active in the afternoon. But once one starts they both do.
I am told I am past the scary part for twins. Well, luckily I didn't know there was a scary part! I am just taki png it one day at a time, trying not to get stressed about the risks like them being born early, or having to have a csection, and I am sure there are many more but if you know them don't tell me! :) Here's to a healthy and lengthy pregnancy! Can't wait to see what they are!! I have my feeling, but we will see!

  2. I have not been able to quit thinking about this since I saw it on Facebook. I guess Ben had it coming, thinking he could limit the number of babies you could have!!! Take that Ben:)
